Research Interest

     Our laboratory focuses on investigating how metabolic status affects pain sensory as well as sleep/wakefulness homeostasis. We employ modern system neuroscience state of the art techniques including brain slice patch clamp, neurocircuit tracing, optogenetics/chemogenetics, fiberphotometry, EEG/EMG recording combing with single nucleus sequencing and riboTrap based translatome technique. Based on the pain model, metabolic disorder as well as sleep deprivation models, we aim, combing with transgenic mice and rodent behaviors methods, to study physiology as well as pathology of underlying neurocircuitry mechanisms from molecular, synapse to neurocircuit levels in rodents.
